December 12 Meeting, 6:45 am, Mayo Clinic lower level
The morning’s topic will be the Civil Air Patrol presented by Major Steven Wall and Major Robert Cole. The gentlemen will be introduced by Dave Johnson. Visitors are encouraged to attend.
The Civil Air Patrol (CAP) is a unique organization both in its capabilities and its organizational structure. The CAP is a federally supported, non-profit corporation that also serves as an auxiliary of the United States Air Force when performing missions for the federal government. CAP can conduct missions either as an auxiliary of the Air Force or in its corporate status.
Eden Walson, Cannon Falls Rotary exchange student from France, presented her sponsoring club's banner to President Bob Shepard. Bob commented that this is one of the prettiest banners that our club has received.
This morning's speaker was Joyce Moorhouse, who with her husband Al, started and continue to operate ASM cookie cutters. This couple, both over the age of 80, operate a business by themselves that produces between 13,000 and 14,000 cookie cutters each year. http://www1.cbn.com/700club/christmas-cookie-tradition
We had such a wonderful time at the Rotary Heritage Banquet Saturday night. Folks really enjoyed the Speakeasy theme and we celebrated many of the past and current leaders of our Club. And recognized three of our major projects; International Student Exchange, Packing for the Weekend and Service Above Self home improvement project.
